Designing & Installing Devicebook Audio

Introduction

This section is about designing Devicebook Audio for a smart home, and subsequently installing devices.

To learn about using Devicebook Audio, see Using Devicebook Audio.

Designing Audio

Devicebook Audio uses smart Sound Systems to control the playback of music throughout your home. There can only be a single sound system (such as Sonos Cloud) linked to a smart home. A sound system may consist of any number of audio devices and groups.

Installing Devicebook Audio

Install smart Audio devices following the manufacturer's instructions. Use the manufacturer's third party application to set up the devices and connect them to for a single sound system with any number of groups. Use the third party application to link the sound system to music sources such as Spotify.

Setting Up & Testing Audio

Use House Check to link the Devicebook Smart Home to the sound system manufacturer's cloud, and then link the sound system as a device.

To verify that the audio solution has been installed properly, use the Devicebook App to select a sound system group, and choose a playlist of music. Verify that the music starts playing, and can be controlled from the Devicebook App.
