Using Heating & Cooling
The Devicebook Heating & Cooling solution automates and controls all thermostats in a residence. Each device can be controlled independently. Homeowners can set up automations to heat or cool their home, and even control them with a voice assistant.
Controlling Heating & Cooling
Devicebook Heating & Cooling can be controlled directly from the Devicebook App for a mobile phone, a Wall Pad, and by voice.
Devicebook App

You can manually control each thermostat individually from the Devicebook App for iOS and Android. You can adjust the target temperatures for each thermostat precisely with buttons, or with the slider. Tap the mode buttons to change the mode of the thermostat. Use the toggle switch to turn the fan on or off, if applicable.
If your home has multiple thermostats, you can select the one you want to view and control from the app using the drop-down menu.
Wall Pad
Just as you would with your mobile phone's Devicebook App, you can control your home's thermostats using any Wall Pad installed in your home.
Voice
To control a Devicebook smart home by voice, link the smart home to Alexa. Then, try commands like this:
Alexa, make it warmer.
Alexa, set the Living Room Thermostat to 70 degrees.
You can find a full list of commands for your Devicebook Smart Home in the Devicebook App. After linking with Alexa, find the "What Can I Say" button in the Home page.
Automations
Devicebook Heating & Cooling comes with built-in automations that you can enable or disable, which are listed below. It also works with Routines, allowing you to create fully custom schedule-based automations.
Extreme Temperature Safety
When the temperature is dangerously cold -> heat until the home is at a safe temperature.
When the temperature is dangerously warm -> cool until the home is at a safe temperature.
In some locations, temperatures can fall low enough that exposed pipes can freeze through and burst, causing incalculable property damage. Or, temperatures can climb high enough to cause damage to drywall and cause paint to peel.
When Extreme Temperature Safety is enabled, Devicebook will protect your home from these situations by automatically heating or cooling your home as necessary, even if the thermostats were turned off for any reason.
Note: this feature is enabled by default for all Devicebook Smart Homes, if available.
Enable Extreme Temperature Safety from the Heating & Cooling settings page.
How to enable Extreme Temperature Safety
1. Tap "Heating & Cooling"
2. Tap "Settings"
3. Find the Extreme Temperature Safety tile.
4. For each applicable thermostat, use the toggle switch to enable the feature.
Routines
Routines are custom automations that are triggered based on your schedule, time of day, sunrise/sunset, or even when you head out for the day or come back home. You can create routines that control any of the thermostats in your home.
Learn to create routines here: Setting Up Automation.
